Hello fellow yarn lover!

Yarn Over Yarn Under is a Sydney based small business that came to life through our discovery of amigurumi and quickly faced the challenges of finding plush yarn in Australia. 

Sure, we could find yarn, but it often involved a lot of overseas shopping and the international shipping costs that came with it—and let’s be honest, high shipping costs pack an extra 'ouchie' when you're already expected to wait a few weeks for your happiness delivery to arrive. 

But what about local stores? As much as we endeavour to shop locally, we found that many local stores offered a limited colour range. Where were the vibrant, fluffy hues we craved? We knew there had to be a better way!

That’s when the (yarn ball shaped) lightbulb went off. We decided to create a space where everyone could find soft, high-quality yarns without the overseas hassle. We also noticed a lack of Australian gradient ombre yarns—a personal favourite type of yarn for our blankets, beanies, scarves and headbands. 

And so, Yarn Over Yarn Under was born :)
